Ordering Process

Can I also buy the iFOUR without the components that can be selected in the configurator?
Sure, you can buy the non-configured iFOUR, if the non-configured iFOUR is confirmed to your requirements.

How long does delivery take after the order has been placed?
The iFOUR is a completely hand-manufactured instrument made in Germany. When you order your configured iFOUR, we start to build it right away, and the delivery time depends on the current utilised capacity. That’s why we cannot generalise about a particular duration for the delivery process. For every order, we send a predicted delivery date.

Can the deck layout be changed by the user?
If you have all components for your deck layout, you can change it on your own. Keep in mind that you have to teach the target position the system software after changing the deck layout.

How is the choice of dispenser determined?
The choice of the dispenser depends on the requirements of the experimental setup. For a special liquid handling in a pL-volume range, the PDMD is a good choice. If you want to dispense between several nL and a few µL, you can choose M2MD AD. And if you want to dispense the same liquid several times, you can use the M2MD BD. Why it is not possible to combine three MTPs in the deck layout?
The limitation of the deck layout depends on the accessible area. If you combine three MTPs, it is not possible to get access to each well.

Can the iFOUR work without a syringe pump?
Yes, a syringe pump is not necessary for the usage of the iFOUR.

What is the difference between a Single Channel Syringe and a Dual Channel Syringe?
With the Single Channel Syringe Pump, you can use one system liquid. With the Dual Channel Syringe Pump, you can use two system liquids.
(We recommend using ultra-pure water as the first system liquid. Liquid alcohol, for example, can be used as the second system liquid. Alcohol can be used for the degassing of the system as well as disinfection.)

Is it possible to upgrade the Single Channel Syringe to a Dual Channel Syringe?
A modification from a Single to a Dual Channel Syringe Pump is not possible. If there is a need for a Dual Channel Syringe Pump, please contact our customer support.

What is the advantage of a vacuum table compared to a planar target holder?
The advantage of the vacuum table is that you can fix every kind of target you want to spot on.

I have a special laboratory setup. How can I find out if the iFOUR is suitable for my experimental setup?
Please contact us if you have any questions. We will check your requirements and give you an overview of the options, which will be aligned with the requirements of your special laboratory setup.

What do I do if I want to order multiple dispensers or multiple deck layouts?
Select an option in the configurator and add additional options at the bottom of the page under Additionals.

Safety

Where do I find the Ordinance on Hazardous Substances?
The Ordinance on Hazardous Substances is available on the website of the German Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health.

Can the iFOUR be connected to the internet?
The iFOUR must not be connected to the Internet. Do not use the built-in PC for applications not authorized by M2-Instruments. There is a risk of reducing system speed and introducing bugs.
